Internationally Trained Doctors

Internationally Trained Doctors, also known as International Medical Graduates, are an important part of the Western Australian health system.

The Department of Health in collaboration with other key stakeholders, including the Postgraduate Medical Council, has developed a dedicated website to provide information for Internationally Trained Doctors interested in working in Western Australia.

The Postgraduate Medical Council does not have any role to play in regard to facilitating the entry of medical practitioners to Australia (permanent or temporary) or obtaining registration to practice medicine.

For information on immigration, medical qualifications and registration visit the International medical graduates in Western Australia website.
