The Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils (CPMEC) Junior Doctor and Clinical Educator of the Year Awards are presented to one junior doctor and one clinical educator nationally each year.
Nominees are selected by peers or supervisors, and PMCWA selects the Western Australian (WA) winners based upon the nomination details provided. All state nominees are forwarded by PMCWA to CPMEC and the overall national winner of each category is announced at the annual National Prevocational Medical Education Forum. Nominations usually open in July and close in September.
It is with great pleasure that we congratulate the WA winners for the 2021 Junior Doctor and Clinical Educator of the year awards as Broome Regional Hospital’s Dr Brittney Wicksteed (JMO of the Year) and Royal Perth Hospital’s Dr Zarrin Allam (Clinical Educator of the Year). In addition to this achievement, Dr Zarrin Allam has also been awarded with the Australasian Clinical Educator of the Year Award.
Congratulations to each finalist, and to both Dr Wicksteed and Dr Allam for their achievement – we thank them for their significant contributions and commitment to prevocational medial education, training and welfare.
More information is available on the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils (CPMEC) website.
